Frequently Asked Questions
Are you accepting new clients? Do you keep a wait list?
No, I am not currently accepting new clients and I do not keep a wait list. Please check this page in the future for updates about availability.
How long does therapy take?
That answer depends on you and your personal goals. I offer short-term, long-term or ongoing service based on your needs and preference. I find therapeutic support to be most effective when occurring on a regular basis (i.e. weekly or bi-weekly).
Each session lasts for 1 hour.
What is the cost of service? Do you offer sliding scale rates?
The cost of service is $120 for 1 hour of individual psychotherapy.
I do reserve a limited number of spots in my practice for sliding scale rates based on financial need. **Unfortunately, there are no sliding scale rate spots available at this time.**
Are your services covered by OHIP or insurance?
My services are not covered by OHIP but most insurance plans will cover all or a portion of the cost. Check that your insurance plan lists Social Work as a covered benefit.
I don't have experiences of trauma or abuse, can you still help me?
Yes, although my specialization is in trauma and abuse, I still do work with people over a variety of issues and concerns. I have broad mental health training focused on emotions, thoughts, behaviours and interpersonal relationships, among others. Please contact me to discuss your situation and goals for therapy.
How does payment work?
I am currently only offering virtual sessions due to the COVID-19 situation. For virtual sessions, payment by e-transfer is required either before or at the conclusion of each session.
I provide detailed receipts via email for you to submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement, should you have it.
