Frequently Asked Questions
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes, I am currently accepting clients for virtual sessions only due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Please note that spaces are limited.
How long does therapy take?
That answer depends on you and your personal goals. I offer single session, short-term (2-8 sessions) or long-term (9+ sessions) service based on your preference.
Each session lasts for 1 hour.
What is the cost of service? Do you offer sliding scale rates?
The cost of service is $120 for 1 hour of individual psychotherapy.
However, I do reserve a limited number of spots in my practice for sliding scale rates based on financial need. I am sensitive to the fact that therapy can be costly and not accessible to all people. Contact me to discuss a rate that is feasible for you.
Are your services covered by OHIP?
No, my services are not covered by OHIP. However, many insurance plans will cover all or a portion of the cost. Check that your insurance plan lists Social Work as a covered benefit.
I don't have experiences of trauma or abuse, can you still help me?
Yes, although my specialization is in trauma and abuse, I still do work with people over a variety of issues and concerns. I have broad mental health training focused on emotions, thoughts, behaviours and interpersonal relationships, among others. Please contact me to discuss your situation and goals for therapy.
How does payment work?
I accept cash, cheque, e-transfer or credit card at the conclusion of each session. I provide detailed receipts for you to submit to your insurance plan, should you have it.
For virtual sessions, payment by e-transfer is required and your receipt will be sent by email.
